The current webpage is designed to make additional research available concerning how certain foods and beverages might interfere with or reduce the beneficial treatment effects of trastuzumab by increasing the potential for heart damage (cardiomyopathy). At the bottom of this webpage are links to studies relating to the foods listed under limit or avoid in Foods to eat and avoid during treatment with trastuzumab.

- Harmful fats (butter, lard, beef tallow)
- Heme iron-rich foods (caviar, clams, oysters, mussels, all types of liver)
- High fructose corn syrup (candy, sodas, juice drinks and other highly processed foods)
- Red meat & processed meats (beef, lamb, pork; bacon & other processed meats)
- High salt content (bacon, pizza, salted snacks)
