Chemotherapy to treat breast cancer is known to cause temporary side effects such as nausea and hair loss, but it can also result in longer term organ damage. While breast cancer patients should not avoid this potentially life saving treatment because of possible side effects, awareness of them could facilitate quick diagnosis in the minority of women so affected. Below we provide links to some of the latest studies concerning chemotherapy side affects that are scheduled to be presented in early June at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in Chicago.
